China’s folly may be about to unfold. They are hungry for the minerals in Afghanistan but I doubt they fully understand the 7th century barbarians they are dealing with. China won’t be able to enslave them like they do the Uighurs. The East Turkestan Islamic Movement could feel embolden to start attacking China and the Taliban will be more than likely to align with them at China’s expense. As long as Afghanistan is Islamic it is a cultural wasteland and a trap for civilized countries even communist ones like China.

And, Russia is not the least bit happy about China making the moves on A’stan, not at all. So there maybe a bit of trouble for China from Russia as well as the regular Taliban fighters.
