My daughter played with dolls and barbies, but also played with action figures, cars, trucks and any sport with a ball. She and her brother were buddies and played together all the time. Until she was about 18, she was a blend of girlie girl and tomboy.
While I did buy girl toys, I never forced them on her once she could decide. If she wanted an Undertaker action figure, she got it. If she wanted a stroller for her babies, she got it.
My son was never interested in any of her girl toys.
I understand and agree. And to everyone else who responded I say this. What we are dealing with here in that post is people who are assuming their child actually has no gender and are trying to neutralize gender from birth.
