Employees Asked to Certify Vaccination Status

The safety and well-being of our workforce continues to be our highest priority.

Throughout the pandemic we have put in place safety protocols to protect you and your family, and also to comply with federal requirements and guidelines.

Consistent with recent guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the federal Safer Federal Workforce Task Force (established by Executive Order No. 13991), ***** and other federal agencies will be implementing specific safety protocols for fully vaccinated individuals and those who are unvaccinated. ***** is required to collect certifications from all employees as to their current vaccination status.

Next week (Aug. 16), all ***** employees will receive a form to attest to their current vaccination status. Individuals may update their form at any time they become fully vaccinated (two or more weeks after their final dose based on the vaccine they receive).

The federal requirement is also to understand the vaccination status of on-site contractors. ***** is awaiting additional guidance from OMB addressing this requirement.

Those who attest to being fully vaccinated will continue to follow ***** protocol for fully vaccinated employees. Face mask coverings are required when indoors on a ***** site, since current CDC data identifies the ***** service territory as a high transmission area at this time.

Those who attest to not being fully vaccinated or who decline to disclose their status must wear a face covering at all times while on ***** property (in accordance with both federal and ***** guidelines), must maintain physical distance, must undergo new screening test protocols (guidance under development) and have their official travel restricted. ***** is updating its current COVID guidelines to reflect these requirements.

Important Reminders:

· Vaccination is a personal choice; you are not required to receive the COVID vaccine. However, you are required to fill out a Certification of Vaccination form per federal guidelines.

· ***** is not requiring you to disclose your vaccination status, but we are asking that you do so voluntarily. On the Certification of Vaccination form you have the option to check that you “decline to respond.”

· ***** will maintain a respectful work environment. This includes respecting those who choose not to receive the vaccine or disclose their status, and respecting those who are vaccinated and choose to take conservative health precautions.
We will communicate additional information, including more details about the COVID-19 screening test program, and any changes to TVA requirements as they are finalized.

We thank you for adapting to changing COVID conditions and for being respectful of your co-workers.

So, what will happen if a good percentage of the TVA workers write “decline to respond”?

Nothing looks different from my former workplace** during pre-shot times, except for the more frequent testing; before, folks only got tested if they had been around someone who had gotten sick & popped a positive.

Everyone had to mask up, spread out, and avoid official travel.
