The logo on the hangar doors is from Fleet Air Reconnaissance Squadron VQ-2, however they haven’t been at Rota since 2005 when they relocated to NAS Whidbey Island, WA. The squadron was disestablished on 22 May 2012 ending 57 years of service.

The aircraft appear to be Lockheed EP-3E ARIES [Airborne Reconnaissance Integrated Electronics System] II electronic surveillance aircraft. The only unit that uses this aircraft is VQ-1, also at NAS Whidbey.
