Anyone who says they can predict or know fires doesn’t know fires. I’ve been burning brush piles in my woods for 25 years now and I know the deal. But you never drop your guard. Ever.

My husband, was a vol firefighter for about 8-10 years and worked wildfires in WA, OR and CA for several summers. I did not mean to infer that one can ‘predict’ fire behavior to a T, but those who work fires learn by training and experience what they are likely to do under various conditions, and how they behave.
