I have not gotten into Yo yos yet. How do use them? On a quilt?

Most yo-yo quilts (actually coverlets) that I have seen used yo-yos that are around three inches across as a finished size, either laid in straight rows or alternatiing to fit together more closely:

But one that I saw was incredibly intricate, with finished yo-yos between the size of a fifty-cent piece and a quarter:

I wish I had pictures now of the different things I have made with yoyos. Years ago I wanted to see just how small a yoyo I could make and I had a nice colorful piece of material. I wound up framing it, note the quarter on the lower right, the yoyos are just a little smaller than the quarter. I actually made several about the size of a dime I used to embellish on a quilt. I have a picture of my bedspread on another computer, I will try and post it today. Sorry about the picture quality - nonglare glass. 0-02-01-1d24ff1620fc154e9abaf6be57fcd7da0c1bb73cee3288677eec4f1b94250867-da00d3e3d3e07f56
