Unfortunately, the deaths of elders prior to getting the vaccines was not chalked up to “something that shouldn't alarm you,” but was specifically twisted to alarm you (us). Multiple states forced young, COVID-infected people into nursing homes to drive up the death rates, against all protests.

This does not justify why US death rates are currently 99% unvaccinated, when over half in the US are fully vaccinated and 71% of the UK is:
