That’s true. He was the first president since Reagan that actually told the truth. Whether people wanted to hear it or not.
I didn’t realize it at the time but Reagan got backlash for calling the Soviet Union the evil empire. Same thing I could see Trump do. Somehow Reagan wasn’t as vilified, I don’t think the left was quite as evil as they are now back then
