I went to a little shop in Bodego Bay once and it was all scarves, caps, sweaters, etc., from pet hair. I told the owner about rusty long beautiful hair that I had to have shaved occasionally, and she gave me her card because she wanted it. I thought about it, some of my friends thought it was creepy, so I never called her.
You’re fortunate Roy let you groom him. Rusty wasn’t so cooperative. In California I took him to a cat groomer and got a poodle cut, and he was fine with it. When I moved back to Texas there are no cat groomers unless it’s a vet and they use anesthesia. I didn’t like it, but had no choice. Before he died, his hair was matted and I snipped some and used conditioner but didn’t want him to go through going go vet and the drugs. I always hope I made the right decision.
Roy was an angel at getting groomed. The girls, not so much.
I took a picture of the counter where I groomed cotton just a few months ago. I don’t know how she does it but she manages to knock over everything on the counter and throw half of it on the floor. I can’t find the picture now but I’ll keep looking.
But I think those three were still better than most kitties, they had their first bath at 6 weeks. The lady I got them from was into Cat shows, and her cats were always marvelously groomed.

But it’s just fur that you get out when brushing right? I wouldn’t think of that is creepy. I had a fleeting thought of saving corduroy’s pelt. And hang it on the wall that way I would always have him with me. And he had such great fur. And then when cotton went she could be right next to him.
