Our cousins had a GS, growing up, named Duke.
Not as friendly but VERY protective.
Dax sounds like he was a YUGE sweetheart, to family/friends.

We tried many times to find a replacement for him, wonderful GSs but it never was the same.
And we owe a lot of his training to our Siamese cat who ruled the homestead.
