As an accountant my brain went fuzzy a few times reading this but you made some excellent points. Id like to add to the sugar discussion. Didn’t the breakfast industry, heart assoc and whomever else would benefit, put on a massive campaign in the 60s or 70s about how fat is the worst thing for us? And to counteract and”fix” the lack of flavor from removing fat, sugar was introduced into everything? I’ve also done research in the last five years to better handle my health and there seem to be a ton of sources saying sugar can do so much bad to your health, including the idea that cancer “feeds” on sugar. I’ve actually done 3 day fasting to achieve “autophagy” which supposedly means your dead cells slough of and it gives your body a chance to create new healthy ones.Again, I’m an accountant with no medical knowledge but I’m currently the healthiest I’ve ever been, and the only member of my family to remain unvaccinated. Guess I’m following “my own” science.
Not to start a fasting slide - but
Sten Ekbrg’s YouTube Channel is one excellent source of real health information, including the effectiveness of intermittent fasting and autophagy. https://www.youtube.com/c/drekberg
At 65 I started having several serious health issues. At 72 They have all been resolved through diet, fasting, breathing exercises and, recently added, meditation.
I shall speak no more of it here.
And add to the sugar thing that a huge percentage of pre-prepared foods do not actually have cane sugar in them, but corn syrup or variations thereof. “Fructose” is general corn sugar.
Corn syrup is much worse for the body than cane sugar.
