Also my piano FINALLY arrived a bit over a week ago. It spent 3 months on it’s side. Then went from sea level and high humidity to 6000 and very little humidity. It now sounds hideous and I’m trying not to flip out.
That reminds me of this one time...
Was in an orchestra playing a concert in the remote boonies on a very mountainous island. We went there by bus. The venue had no grand piano, so one was taken there by truck from the big city.
It was late to arrive! We performed the overture, and still no piano. We, as well as the audience, sat there patiently waiting for more than a half hour, when finally, the rear doors opened, and it made its grand entrance (no pun intended) as several workmen wheeled it in on its side on some kind of large dolly contraption, down the aisle, past all the gawking onlookers, and set it up on the stage.
You can imagine the rest. We all had to stifle ourselves like you wouldn’t believe. The soloist especially. I never heard a piano sound so wretched in my life! Somehow she, and we, got all the way through the concerto. I forget whose it even was. But I’ll bet the farmers and milkmaids and tradesfolk in the audience were thinking it would’ve sounded better played on the old upright in the local tavern!
Hahaha! I’ve missed your posts - they often make me laugh!

Aw, thanks. I’m so tired I can hardly stand it. I think the move is finally catching up to me, or my thyroid meds aren’t working. There are days when I can barely stand to get on the computer lol.
That story is really hilarious and horrible lol!! Yeah, I’d take the tavern piano over the wretched grand one.
