No, the significance is in a solid state device of hydrogen + copper +palladium which generates a Voltage.

At the very least it would be a new kind of chemical battery, but one with no presently known chemical pathway, and also could potentially last years.

Is your point that no new electricity from wind or solar needs to used to charge the battery. Rather the chemical reaction just keeps producing electricity until the chemistry is used up?— Which could take years ... because the efficiency of the reaction—is much much greater than the efficiency of other known chemical batteries.
