The claim is either a lie or total ignorance. The original CDC assay is a single panel, it could only ever look for Covid.

A multiplex panel or assay is programmed to look for the dna markers for Influenza A, B and Covid.

It’s just basic product improvement.

So let me ask you a question for our general audience here.
I already know the answer.

So the present obsolete test will test for only Covid, correct?

So in order to test for influenza A, or B a new test pack needs to be used, correct?

Sometimes, even a new sample will be needed, who wants to tell the patient that?

But the new equipment will allow all test to be completed at once. Correct?

So the CDC is delaying ending the old but reliable way to test until labs and offices can obtain the new equipment?

The new equipment and packs will test for Covid, influenza A and B, correct?

As oppose to just testing for one.

I know it’s a slow walk through but I don’t know how else to get them to understand.
