When you assume your conclusion, it is very easy to make a case to support it.

I was a debater back in my younger days—we could justify anything, no matter how ridiculous.

The flu disappearing into thin air is ridiculous.

I judged high school debate a long time Ago. It was fun, but you’re right, they had to be prepared to argue either side of an argument.
