I think you should be allowed to speak freely, fyi. But I also don’t think that means you,myself, or anyone is free to say whatever we want without allowing others to openly disagree as well. It is the freedom to speak, not the right to be heard, or the right to be immune from dissent, whether factual, logical, stupid or rude.

It isn’t that having a medical background makes you the smartest person in the room. Reasonable people without degrees or training can follow facts and evidence too.

The whole point is that EMPEROR ISNT WEARING ANYTHING CLOTHES, but because we don’t have a specific degree we can’t question it.

When my students don’t understand something in my econ class, and ask me to explain, my response isn’t to tell them to shut up and just agree with me because I’m smart and they are stupid. That is your argument, I’m smarter than you, and if you don’t agree with me you are (enter stupid, Nazi, antivaccer, hillbilly, trash, etc).

Additionally, the way you presented your argument was that your perspective was the only legitimate perspective, because you have four degrees. When people responded, you started with bringing in trump, who was irrelevant to the conversation. While you shouldn’t be silenced, at the same time you’re using the same intelligista gestapo tactic of shutting down the conversation by labeling yourself as the only expert available to make any commentary on Dr fauci or the vaccine or covid-19. I don’t see that there’s much difference between someone trying to kick you off the forum directly and you doing it indirectly by making those claims.

I would think that someone with four degrees and having a knowledge of medical concerns would be understanding when people don’t. There are very bright people on this forum who write and comment every day. Some of them may be doctors and nurses. Some of them just regular people who are very intelligent. Some are not very intelligent. But I would imagine knowing that so few people have a degree in this specific area that you would be more compassionate towards them and their lack of knowledge. Perhaps maybe more understanding in their fear. It is clear that from the local level all the way up to the highest echelons of our government that there is some sort of conspiracy going on. And that doesn’t make you a conspiracy theorist to see that or to know that. People are scared, and they’re mistrustful of their government for very good reasons.

I don’t agree with everything people say on here about my profession. Some of the things people say here I strongly disagree with. But that doesn’t mean that the experiences they had with teachers, or with school, or with learning didn’t happen to them or they aren’t real or they aren’t concerning. It is no different for the medical field.

But I think this is the Crux of the argument, you expect to be believed no matter what because of your profession. But we are conservatives and libertarians and we don’t drink the Kool-Aid here. We are a discerning and shrewd people and if you’re going to comment on a forum full of these type of cynics be prepared for them to disagree. That is their right as well.
