Trivia...When Nixon debated JFK (televised), most people that watched it on TV thought JFK was the better. Most people who heard it on the radio thought Nixon. It was a setup...Nixon didn’t have time to shave, suit looked “crumpled” (he’d worn it all day), no make-up. JFK was well rested, clean-pressed suit, good make-up, etc.
Nixon would have won that election had it not been for the “Daley” machine in Chicago.

This TV vs. radio scenario reminds me of the 2016 election where they had actors playing Hillary Clinton and Trump, but switched places, female for Trump and male for Hillary Clinton, and then state their policy positions as candidates, and audience reaction was more positive for the “female Trump.”
