Every now and then the French people have to remind their leaders that the leaders are not worthy of the people.

Outside of Paris, Americans are generally well liked. The French Navy treated us extremely well when we were in Toulon for three weeks.

Most Parisians look down their long Gallic noses at other Frenchmen. The feeling is returned.
