I watch real picker shows on YouTube. Buy a Tupperware lid at a yard sale for fifty cents, sell it on eBay for $9.99. You just have to know which ones to buy.

That’s what’s so fascinating to me.
You have to be knowledgeable and have an eye for what is valuable.
A lot of stuff the layperson would think is junk is actually valuable....that and having a buyer already lined up helps.
My best "pick" was buying a first edition "Dune Encyclopedia" hardback for $1 at a flea market. I was looking forward to maybe selling it for at least $15. What I didn't know is that author Frank Herbert after initially approving the encyclopedia later disapproved of it so only limited # of copies were printed.
Oh, and a week later I sold it on eBay for..... $202.50.
p.s. I actually made an additional $100 from that sale because there was a very funny back story about the packing that I sold to a magazine for $100.
