Are all the residents vaccinated?
No, not all residents are vaccinated. Protocols are still in place. Staff and visitors temped at the door. Unvaccinated staff tested weekly. 4 time a day temp and O2 checks on all residents. Evaluation for symptoms, such as cough, fever, nausea, loss of smell, shortness of breath, etc. New unvaccinated people are put in 14 day isolation.
A Covid breakout started in August and ran through October before the vaccines were available. Many residents caught it, but most didn’t. A separate unit was set up for those diagnosed. Most recovered, a few died. About half the staff contracted Covid at some point. One death of an office person who had co-morbidities and over 65. No further cases since then in the facility. I didn’t get it.
