Maybe, maybe not. Who knows with this country’s leadership. They’re already flying them all over the USA in military aircraft.
North Island farewell !
Great story !
I was on a supply ship 78-82. We did this (loaded crew members’ cars) just going from Alameda to San Diego for a month. Nothing new or unusual.
Not exactly exactly a new station - they’re going to PSNS for a refit.
I wonder what that means for the Nimitz. Nimitz is already homeported at Bremerton. I don’t see any reason there can’t be two carriers there.
From nice sunny warm San Diego to cold, windy , wet Sinclair inlet.
Port Orchard on one side of the bay and Bremerton on the other and beautiful Gorst in between.
Moral will go into the toilet within a month.
( btw, fun fact, port orchard was the original podunk, the 1st anchorage of Captain Drake in the Puget sound iirc )
.
TR is scheduled for overhaul at the Bremerton Naval Shipyard.
The Nimitz is deployed at this time
Probably not. The USS Carl Vinson CVN 70 is completing overhaul at the Bremerton Naval Shipyard and will relocate to San Diego in August.
Carl Vinson has been in San Diego for nearly a year now.
thanks
Bremerton is also a boomer base.
