Bond is intense. His life, his job, his psyche all swirl about in a field of tension. He is sensitive, he sees deeply and around corners, with the eye of a hunter.
Connery carried that tension, always just below the surface, the warrior ready for action. Lazenby and Dalton, too. Moore was sorely lacking that quiet and potential menace, he never sold me.
Craig sold me. He’s been pretty good so far.
Good summary. Pierce Brosnan’s time as Bond was marred by terrible story lines, and he is somewhere between Moore and the rest of the pack.
Moore always played Bond the same way he play Simon Templar in “The Saint.”
