Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger argued that two high-profile election officials in Fulton County should be fired after recent revelations regarding the 2020 presidential election.

The story: Raffensperger called on local officials on Thursday to remove Rick Barron, the Fulton elections director, and Ralph Jones, the registration chief, from their positions.

His statement came after it was revealed that a certain number of ballots in the county were double-counted during the 2020 presidential election. Earlier this week, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported that around 200 ballots in Fulton County were scanned twice before a recount of the presidential election.

What he said: “Fulton County’s continued failures have gone on long enough with no accountability. Rick Barron and Ralph Jones, Fulton’s registration chief, must be fired and removed from Fulton’s elections leadership immediately. Fulton’s voters and the people of Georgia deserve better,” Raffensperger tweeted.

In a separate statement, he urged county officials to “clean their own house,” pointing to “mismanagement” issues.

“Every time we think we’ve reached the peak of Fulton’s elections mismanagement issues, more comes to light,” Raffensperger told the Daily Caller News Foundation. “I’ve been calling for change in Fulton since day one. Maintaining public confidence in our elections begins in Fulton County.”

“Now, with SB202, the State Election Board has the authority to make that happen,” he added. “If Fulton County doesn’t take action to clean their own house, then I reiterate my call that the State Election Board should use their new authority to clean it for them.”

How we got here: President Joe Biden won in Georgia in the 2020 election which marked the first time in more than 20 years that a Democrat won the state. After the election, former President Donald Trump and his campaign asked for audits in the state. Georgia became the subject of controversy and conducted a total of three audits.

However, they found no evidence of widespread voter fraud.

(Yeah, right)

And so the scapegoating begins. It should be entertaining watching the rats devour each other. Goodness knows we’ve watched them chewing up our side for too many years.
