Lebanon’s PM-designate Steps Down After Months of Deadlock
"“It is clear that we will not be able to agree with the president,” Hariri said after a 20-minute meeting with President Michel Aoun. “I have excused myself from forming the government. May God help the country.”"
"After the news broke, protesters—mostly Hariri’s supporters—blocked roads and set fire to tires in several parts of Beirut, decrying the deepening crisis. Troops deployed to break up a protest at the edge of Beirut, firing in the air and using armored vehicles to open roads. Protesters pelted the soldiers with stones."
A foreshadowing of our own situation?
Hezbollah has been rattling sabres about attacking Israel but given what Israel has done to Iran I think it is all talk right now. Israel with its new bs new york liberal type government is inviting Hezbollah IMO to agitate their border with Lebanon. At least Israel, regardless of the type of government they have, will do to Hezbollah what they did to Hamas and not blink an eye. Although Israel needs to go for the death blow if not to Hezbollah, then to Iran. It’s a shame that Iran is ruled by 7th religious mullahs, when it had the most western civilized Muslim society before their arrival. Iran though is dying via demographics, the women are not having children causing their society to contract and who can blame them given how their society is due to mullah madness.
