England wanted 2 or all 3 of the black players who shot the last three penalty kicks and struck out to be the heroes but it blew up in England’s face . Now all you read on the net is about the racist slurs that a few aholes hurled at them on the internet . No interest in soccer but glad Italy won for a variety of reasons .

Not very well I'm afraid. Southgate could at least have gotten Raheem Sterling take the third penalty kick. A 19 year old to take the penalty in the finals? Ridiculous.

They're thugs not fans’: Met Police Federation condemns England supporters after officers attacked

They are both. Football fans have been clashing with the police since there was football. And it happens in every country where football is taken seriously.

England didn't. Gareth Southgate did. Southgate has to take it on the chin for that decision. And he has.

It was a tale of two different halves.

England seem to dominate the first half, Italy the second.

Well that 2nd minute goal against Italy didn't do Italy any good. That kind of thing can share a team's confidence for a bit.
And yeah Italy outplayed England in the second half.

Italy was also missing their best player Spinazzola, if he played Italy probably would have won easily, there was definitely a drop-off after he got hurt.

And the “Italy of South America”, Argentina, won the Copa America. Messi is half-Italian, and could have played for Italy if he wanted to.
