How long it takes to fail can vary depending on how much money they have to confiscate in the country and what kind of shape the infrastructure is in. But as soon as they run out of other peoples money and the infrastructure built by capitalists starts to crumble. The state fails, 100% of the time. It can take decades for this process to play out, so it can be hard for some to see the connection.
