You’re right. I forgot about that. A gift over the limit ($15,000 for 2021) must be reported to the IRS, and taxes must be paid.

So it sure looks like the Bidens broke the law here. Not that anyone cares.

It sounds like Hunter was paying his dad’s bills, rather than giving him cash. Not sure what the tax law says about that. Also, it’s likely that 50% was an exaggeration. The money was there when Joe wanted or needed it and Hunter resented having to fork it over, but I doubt half of everything Hunter received was getting funneled into Joe’s accounts.
