Yes and no - thanks for asking. If it stays on the predicted path we are on the eastern fringes. A hurricane's strongest wind/rain fields are the northeast and east so much depends on the forward speed of the storm and whether it is generating tornados in its outer storm bands.
I am either an optimist or a fool; I didn't even lower the awnings. They are rigid materials with good support; 40mph gusts aren't much of a problem. I am taking a risk. When lowered they protect the window also. Please, NO tornadoes!
Thank you for update; maybe if it looks worse lower the awnings? I did not know that hurricanes can generate tornadoes! When is it expected to arrive in your area (whatever prat of it may arrive)? Prayers for your safety.
