Their peak luminosities can be 100 billion billion times that of our sun.

Okay, that's some serious candlepower!... Like the light of a BILLION Milky Way galaxies, all concentrated at a single point in the sky (depending, of course, on how many stars are actually in the Milky Way... you usually hear estimates ranging anywhere from 100 billion stars to a trillion or so).
