What with trans-women (men) competing in women's athletics, this ability to monetize one's looks might off-set the inevitable losses on the mat/floor/court.
At least it appears to be one women’s sport the lesbos haven’t taken over.
>In theory I agree, but it’s going to ruin college sports basically we will have professional sports in college.
We already do, but the athletes aren’t fairly compensated.
We already have professional sports in college. Everybody but the athletes get paid. The colleges can sell posters and jerseys and everything else about the athletes but the athletes weren’t allowed to see any of it. This was dumb. Stupid NCAA rules to create the illusion of amateurism while making billions. It needed to end.
She has “hot privilege”.
It is just a matter of time before the ugly left targets attractive folks.
It is “unfair”, ya know...
Colleges admit lots of young athletes, on the assumption that some of them will turn out and make money for them. The net result of reducing their athletics income might be to make them more selective about giving athletic scholarships. Then again, maybe refocusing on academics might be a good thing.
College Sports is a dirty business, but I would suggest college scholarships that pay tuition, books, room, board and free medical care, is quite a compensation package, at state supported schools much less private colleges...
Last night Vanderbilt played for a national title in college baseball, how much does one year at Vanderbilt cost ??
But as I said in another post, think of all the things you don’t like about professional sports and now throw in 17-18 year old high school players being involved...
It’s going to take a dirty business and make it disgusting.
I understand the argument, but I believe we’re on the cusp of the end of college athletics. Widespread unionization of athletes will be the nail in the coffin. Unions will demand the end of eligibility rules like class loads and number of years you can play. Once they’re full blown professionals I can’t see the appeal.
I’m old, not always a fan of change, so I might be wrong of course.
College scholarships are worth nothing ??
Most college athletes get 5 years to play 4 all paid for, that’s not professional wages, but it’s helluva lot for the average college player...
How much profit did the LSU gymnastics program generate in 2019? I’ll bet every sport save football or maybe basketball lost money.
the universities made the stage....athletes would go no where without that stage....
“ We are the only country that makes a big deal out of college athletics.”
We should do everything just like Europe does!
They’re not worth nothing. But why shouldn’t the athletes also get paid through other means? People in on academic scholarships are allowed to make money.
Here’s the innate stupidity of the situation, I’ll make a hypothetical for you:
a coach, a trainer, a cheerleader, an athlete and an academic scholarship student all go to a restaurant. The owner of the restaurant recognizes enough of them, comes over an offers to comp the meal. 1 person in that group is not allowed to take that free meal. The athlete. That’s wrong. That is immoral, and just plain stupid. And everybody in that group except the athlete can make money on their name image and likeness. Again, immoral and stupid.
The NCAA needs to stop punishing the athletes and treating them differently, worse, than every other student on campus to maintain their illusion of amateurism.
And the university will continue to make money on it. And now so will the athletes. As it should be.
What is she doing with her tongue there?
What is her deal besides being kind of good looking? That she is a good looking gymnast who licks her lips? Is she famous for some reason?
Just curious...:)

Post of the day!!
Sure, she’s hot but WTF? What is she giving society compared to other young women such as first responders, those in the military etc and also are in college? The cesspool world of social media, sex obsessed idolatry society and NCAA.Wouldn’t America be better off without them?
