I know right, it seemed Rodney King changed everything, before that blacks and whites were getting along much better. But there’s too much money to be made in dividing people.
“...none of the jokes involving White characters specifically involve them being White.”
If this constipated twit can’t see that the Peace Corps gag was a pointed jab at whiteness, then he’s beyond hopeless.
Someone please tell this individual to F::K O::!
But-but-but... All In The Family and M*A*S*H and...were woke(!) for 1970!
I guess the movie “White Girls” gets a pass.
Then came Obama and with his and his party's sponsorship racism returned, this time against that same majority community. A hundred and sixty years after starting the last civil war Democrats are eagerly fomenting another.
Case in point: There was a line in the movie “Julie and Julia” (written by uber liberal Nora Ephron) in which the Julie character gets in trouble at work, and it is a fireable offense according to her boss. Her boss doesn’t fire her, but says the totally superfluous line (paraphrasing), “I should have fired you. A Republican boss would have fired you.”
That line stuck in my craw, which is why I remember it. I wanted to get up and walk out, but I was with others.
Well, in that case, he'd better not watch anything by Don Rickles (RIP).
The jokes involving People of Color are usually based around that person’s color, whereas none of the jokes involving White characters specifically involve them being White.
Fine. Go watch The Jeffersons.
One of the funniest films ever made, and these dipsticks are going to get it banned.
Maybe the OJ Simpson trial too.
That one was good. In the Camptown Races scene, Brooks was making fun of White people while appearing to make fun of Black people. That was brilliant.
For the purpose of dishing out more SJW claptrap.
So another White SJW lecturing White people that only Black people can poke fun at Black people. I hope that discerning Black people are insulted by this.
I remember that the show also had the characters Private Boone (Bruno Kirby), Ugly John, and Ho Jon from the book and then the movie but only last the first one or two seasons.
“and if we don’t understand why they are problematic, then we can’t take the necessary steps to evolve as a culture.”
In other words, we can strip all humor and fun from the lives of Americans to prepare them for life as Chinese slaves.
I always thought that George Jefferson disapproving of the Willis interracial marriage and calling Jenny a “zebra” was just for laughs, but later came to learn that there really is some hostility to such marriages and biracial children in the black community. They must have been so conflicted regarding Obozo - do we like him or disapprove of him? A dilemma for some, I’m sure.
Pardon me, I meant to say “only lasted for the first one or two seasons”.
They all started singing “April in Paris.” LOL.
Lionel was a good character. There’s a great scene where he chastises Meathead, because Meathead only talks about racial stuff...”Why don’t we ever talk about the weather? Black people have weather too, you know.”
