Tony Randall said that all the NFL was queer when he was on the Johnny Carson Tonight show many years ago.

I am doubtful. Tony Randall, to my knowledge, was a sesquipedalian and an opera and theatre buff (his version of the Felix Unger persona was in part based on his own personality).

Most of his TV and movie roles had him playing a homosexual (Love, Sidney) an effete male (The Odd Couple) or at very least a beta male (Will Success Spoil Rock Hunter?)

He probably said what he said on Carson to cause a kerfuffle.
