Rep. Cori Bush (D-MO) is introducing a new bill that will replace law enforcement with “community-led first responders” as crime skyrockets across the nation.

NBC News reported the bill would establish a Division on Community Safety within the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and would “focus on supporting those disproportionately criminalized by police.”

The new legislation comes as crime across America has surged dramatically, especially in Democrat-run cities like New York, Philadelphia, Portland, Atlanta, Los Angeles, and Chicago.

Bush told NBC News:

“What this will do directly is save lives.

“What we will have done is change the culture, removing their crisis care from one that has to deal with law enforcement to one that actually works with the providers that would take care of them normally, people that understand what they’re facing.”

The new legislation comes as crime across America has surged dramatically,

Bush added:

From the very beginning, my team engaged with local community groups all over the country about this legislation.

People would have meetings and talk about activists and policing and protests, but they wouldn’t bring the actual people on the ground to the table.

So that’s something I wanted to make sure I did differently.

We have people involved who were locally based in St. Louis and in other parts of the country.

House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy recently blasted Democrats after thousands of police officers resigned from their departments amid a soaring crime wave.

“Over the past year, Democrats’ sustained movement to defund, dismantle, and demonize our cops is taking a toll on our communities,” McCarthy said.

“It has manifested in the crime crisis our nation faces today, yet President Biden remains soft on crime and silent on Democrats’ radical policies.”

Meanwhile, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) downplayed the exploding violent crime wave

Meanwhile, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) downplayed the exploding violent crime wave as she renews her calls to “defund the police.”

“We are seeing these headlines about percentage increases,” she claimed.

“Now, I want to say that any amount of harm is unacceptable and too much.”

“But I also want to make sure that this hysteria, you know, that this doesn’t drive a hysteria and that we look at these numbers in context so that we can make responsible decisions about what to allocate in that context.”

I remember Cori Bush (D-MO) with a bull horn leading ‘local community groups’ in breaking into a private gated community to yell at the St Louis mayor. None, of course, were charged breaking down the gate, but homeowners were charged with felonies for ‘threatening’ the ‘local community groups’.
