It depended how corrupted the system is. It was told to a at least one ex-agent they believe that Daniel Alfin(murdered) was investigating Hunter. If that is true I don't know but it makes sense given there isn't a lot of high level FBI that work that type of case. There was a lot of Epstein type coincidences that lead up to his murder.
