They administered the sugar cubes in our grade school gym. I still can remember the strange poisonous taste it had.
Had the cube at the AFB hospital in my area. Purple liquid — not much of a taste as far as I remember, but after getting jabbed with the DPT series, smallpox, and every other standard injection except yellow fever and typhoid, I was just glad to have something NOT administered by a needle.
