My wife actually owns 4 acres of land in El Paso. Her grandfather got it as an investment. It still isn’t worth what he paid for it 50 years ago.

As a kid one summer my parents thought it would be neat to rent one of those boxy Winnebagos and drive the family out west. As we left Big Bend National Park, which was great for a kid, and headed towards the Grand Canyon on I-10 it broke down and was fixed in El Paso. That’s my memory of El Paso.
