I never was that suspicious of the vaxes until the Gardasil debacle. Rick Perry up there telling the public “Ah don’t want ta have to look, a young girl err... a young woh-man in the eye and say, ‘we could’da STOPPED it. But we DIDN’T!’”.
I got suspicious about vaccines in 1972 when my first daughter got her first vaccine and although perfectly healthy before, got non-stop ear infections and sickness for a long time. She never got another one, and my second child was not vaxed at all.
PS - I had a couple of books by Dr. Mendelsohn, one was “How to Raise a Healthy Child in Spite of Your Doctor” and he only recommended tetanus vax, no others, iirc. This was a long time ago.
