NFT stands for non-fungible token. The most simplistic description of an NFT is that it’s an asset in digital form usually bought as an investment. It may be a piece of digital art, a video clip of an athlete doing something amazing, an artist singing a song, a picture, etc. The value is whatever a buyer will pay for it, the buyer owns it exclusively, and the provenance is protected by blockchain technology. Others here may have a better description and should correct me if I’ve misstated any of the characteristics.
