My friend died of this disease late last year. Hmmm.

Was he a hunter? In some parts of the country the deer have the disease. How they wound up with it is a mystery. Perhaps, years ago when this country had some isolated cases in animal meat from putting brain by-products in animal feed, the deer got it from mooching in farm feedlots. Eating the prions which are found mostly in the brain and spinal cord of infected animals may give you the CJDisease.
