I think the delta variant was identified and named late last year. My best recollection is that the mass vaccination in India began in the middle of January.
There was widespread use of ivermectin before the vaxx campaign; it was dropped in favor of the shots.
Then the cases jumped; now that they’ve gone back to using ivermectin, the cases are decreasing.
