People have different understandings of satan, devil, the source of evil etc, and that is perfectly fine. It is okay. It is acceptable. It is the American way. We don't want the mullah way.
Some people agree with Bagster's understanding that people believe in satan and thus do that stuff, whether there is an actual entity called or designated "satan" or not. Whether satan exists or not, or what exactly "satan" means, is up to each person to decide or figure out for themselves. And even among satan believers, there were arguments about length of his existence and a bunch of other theological niceties.
I have my own beliefs which, if I posted, would merely create more arguments. The idea that one, and only one, understanding of evil, satan and all that, is "allowed" and all others are wrong and should be argued down, is about as anti-Q a position as can be imagined.

I hadn’t read your comments to me when I posted the above.
I think everyone can agree that evil exists. As to its exact nature, source, and all the rest, people have many positions and that is okay by me. And, I wager, okay by Q including Q+. We be FRens on this thread and things that create deep rancor are just not helpful.
But that's what we do LJ.
I don’t see this thread as the proper place for theological or religious arguments. In fact, I never like to participate in religious arguments. Let everyone believe what they believe. I may agree or disagree, but I don’t want to try to convince anyone otherwise, nor do I want others to try to argue with me about mine.

I heard a little while ago, that Arizona is approaching the deadline for their legislature to close the session. If the audit is not finished by then, it would take the Gov. to call a special session - apparently not too likely.
If no special session, there will be no legislative action till January next year.
