Yes, quite a beautiful dog.
I liked the original version by J J Cale in ‘76.
Excellent observation.

“Cute dog and all, but reaction to that word is disturbing. Anyone guess why?”
It’s disturbing as hell and clever defense attorneys will start using this. And they should.

“The Original?”...You mean to tell me Eric didn’t write that?
Well, I’ll be!
He had me fooled, but I shouldn’t be that surprised. Most of the really good blues songs were first sung before 1955.
Well bowl me over...I thought sure that the Sheep Dog would be the ‘best in show’ because of the way the judge fawned over him. Pekingese? Has China infiltrated our Dog shows too??? j/k
Yep, if used at the right time to trigger a reaction it could be falsely labelled as a “Hit”.
This means the dog was trained to react on a word and not a smell as it should be.
Yep... Absolutely.
It’s really Hunter Biden, he’s a dog.
Wrong.
A police dog is not supposed to react to a “drug” word like that. Only the actual smell of drugs. That could be wrongfully used to claim a “hit” on a car for further investigation without “true probable cause”.
I helped train police dogs for a couple years. And that is a huge No No right there. So is training them to specifically smell out and hit on just Cash with no drugs present, let alone “hit” on command in any way form or fashion.
I watched the video. He either responded to the pause, which I suspect or he responded to the word mayo.
I had no idea where you were going with your first post. Now I do.....
Ping to drug dog video.
Heartwood actually nailed it first... I posted before I saw Heartwood’s.
For reasons I never found out, one of my rescue Dobes, Merlin, would do a neck-snapping, super speedy head tilt if somebody said “cocaine”.
She was running loose for 3 months before animal control caught her and was a nightmare of what appeared to be skin infections and possible cigarette burns.
The shelter manager asked where I’d “gotten the beautiful Dobe” when I took her for a visit, a month later.
She had gone from sun-burned rust to a deep, glossy chocolate brown and was a thing of great beauty.
But that weird reaction, though....o_O
More often than not, a stupid Peke wins.
Sick of it and I don’t watch the show anymore.
Go look up how many times a Peke won.
Except for the Dobe and Boxer, it’s always some fluffy/fuzzy breed.

Peke? Pampered little dog that can’t even keep up on a walk with a human.
