Since we are cancelling loans, how about $50,000 off my mortgage. No. But keep payments on time because there will be several illegals from Africa and Central America living with you in your home soon.

Why don’t they cut to the chase, and just pay off colored people’s loans only? It’s really what they want to do.

Great points. We pay for their nonsense and “finding themselves as feminists” or part-time employed males with a man-bun who like arugula salads.
And all hate America.

Yeah, I'd like 50k off my mortgage too. Heck, since my wife and I both went to college how about 50k each?
So, what the democrats are proposing, these self-proclaimed friends of the working class, is to take working class tax dollars and payoff debt incurred by idiot kids with poor financial decision making. How does that feel lib lurkers working an hourly wage? Sound good to you?

This is their campaign issue for 2022 and beyond. The plan is just to create the issue and never really resolve it. They may give a taste of loan forgiveness, but never enough to satisfy anyone. They never solve problems, they only make things worse and claim they care.

Exactly. Just let us write it off on bankruptcy and life will be good, and I will love watching the whole crime of the college loan system go down the tubes.

What about ALL of the damn people who paid their loans!!!
To: Libloather
So the a-hole in chief simply eliminates the debt by a stroke of the pen and then what? Somebody will pay that $1.7 TRILLION! WTF is America going to look like in one year from now? The plan is to spend the country into oblivion and collapse it economically. BTW,total endowments are about half a trillion. I actually hate the university system and Fedgov in general but also think those who sign on a debt have to pay that debt.

They’ll get refunds paid for by the people who never took out a school loan. Gotta be fair, right?

"The time is now," Warren told Insider on Tuesday. "We know what the problem is: student loan debt is holding back tens of millions of people across this country. People who can't buy homes, people who can't buy cars, people who can't start small businesses. We need to cancel that student loan debt, not only for those people individually, but for our whole economy." Their education was less than worthless if it has caused all of that hardship.

I've seen a surge of videos online in the last 6 months about young couples building "tiny" houses and/or renovating old school buses or vans into compact homes that they can afford.
I get updates from Zillo.com on a house I sold 2 years ago in Arizona (I've since retired to Florida) and the sales value has shot through the roof. I bought it for $90,000 in 1985 and sold it for #223,000 two years ago. It's just sold again for $445,000. Hot market in Tempe, AZ.
Not many folks can afford new or even used houses nowadays at those prices.

Since these loans represent actual money loaned by a bank, what happens to that bank’s owed money? Billons just magically stollen from banks. Do you think they’ll be willing to write such loans in the future. What does this say about contacts in general? They’re worthless.
