“If there is to be a property tax it should not be based upon the value of the home. This is a scam.

The basis should only be the potential real impact a property has upon the city, county and state. For instance, a two bedroom one bath home with a one car carport impacts sewage, schools, roads and parks less than a five bedroom, for bath home with a the car garage.”

Yes AND no.

Any given two bedroom house in a neighborhood will pay a lower property tax - based on value - compared to a five bedroom home in the same neighborhood.

My friend Brian lives just down the street from my Wife and I.

We have a two bedroom home and there are two of us who live here. Brian has a five bedroom home, has never married and lives alone. (FWIW we both built our custom homes in 1996). We wanted a small home, Brian wanted a large home for resale value. Brian is taxed more then we are due to value.

IF we were to tax on ‘impacts’ then should he pay more? What about a family of six living in a two bedroom home?

Additionally, we have wells and septic systems and any ‘impact’ we have on our acreage is directly OUR responsibility to fix (we are on our third well pump) or pump out (septic system/tank). Our subdivision upkeeps the roads which we pay annually.

I’m OK with paying my $2,500 property tax each year. I’m happy we live in the county and NOT the city which over taxes IMHO.

PragerU is kicked off JW Player that hosts their streaming infrastructure

“Despite Big Tech’s relentless censorship campaign against us, PragerU’s ideas will continue to break through and shape millions of young minds.

When YouTube began restricting 200+ “dangerous” PragerU videos a few years ago—including our series on The Ten Commandments—we took matters into our own hands and our viewership quadrupled!

Thanks to supporters like you, PragerU had the funding to innovate and build our own streaming infrastructure. Instead of embedding (often restricted) videos from YouTube on our website, mobile app, and streaming TV channels, we hosted them natively using a video player software company called JW Player.

Every time we’ve hit a wall, we’ve been able to find a way around it. But now, we are facing a serious new threat.

Just as our contract was coming up for renewal, JW Player informed us they had updated their “community guidelines.” They announced they won’t be renewing our contract as they claim that “PragerU’s content is misleading.”

PragerU pressed for more information. Which videos did they feel were misleading? What kind of methods were they using to fact-check information? Is this decision final? In their words:

“...the primary basis for our decision was related to the prohibition of misleading content...based on the nature of the violations, I don’t see a viable path forward...”
