Maybe since these cruise lines are claiming it is dangerous to board them DeSantis should shut them down. That might change their minds.
How about masks? Are mask mandates welcome in Florida? Start closing the airports.
Not the cruise lines fault, they’re just complying with Federal guidelines. Which in this case are in direct conflict with Florida law. CDC certificates require a 95% vaccination rate among passengers and I believe 98% among crew. If there’s no way to achieve that because they can’t ask vaccination status DeSantis/Florida has already shut them down. They’ll come to some solution soon, different rules and costs may be the solution.
What happens if the poison shot people come down with ebola?
don’t try to change the subject...
good...let them move their operations elsewhere...
discrimination isn’t welcome in florida...
I responded...How about masks? Are mask mandates welcome in Florida? Start closing the airports.
If your concern is discrimination, requiring bus and airline passengers to wear a mask when there's no state mandate, that's discrimination against the many people who prefer not to wear a mask. Not welcome in Florida.
And we both know that in the real world complying with Federal regulation isn't discrimination. For an airline, for a bus line, or for a cruise line.
They’re disembarked and fight for their life in the local facilities.
How do you know? Nobody would want them in their little hospitals. Are people going to have to prove they had flu shots? It can be as bad or worse than covid.
Masks are proven useless and as long as those worried are vaccinated it should be of no concern to anyone if others are not.
This whole thing is silly and tyrannical.
the cdc doesn’t have the authority to implement regulations...
they only write recommendations...
The law is mainly for the small fry, where people have to deal with ineveryday life such as stores, restaurants, gyms etc.
A large ship with 6000 passengers (like my recent cruise on Oasis of the Seas) is entirely a different situation.
Gov DeSantis agenda is highly pro-cruising from Florida ports. I have a feeling he badly wants cruises to begin sailing again from Florida ports, and will not stop them from obeying CDC guidelines, made SPECIALLY FOR CRUISES.
And if a cruise outfits violate those guidelines, lawyers will have a field day in courts.
It is more than possible that those who had covid already and recovered, have similar immunity to the vaccinated crowd.
Problem is cruise ship has only 4 to 5 hours on sailing day to board thousands of passengers. How are they to know for sure you had covid before? Does one get a certificate of recovery from a hospital?
It would be highly impractical to perform anti-body tests on all passengers in line to board who do not have vaccination docs.
I am not a salesman for the cruise industry, but you can visit vacationstogo.com and do your own search. At the bottom of window, you can stipulate your requirements to filter out cruises which do not comply.
since desantis has proven himself to be a straight talker he would have spoken up about any appreciation he would possibly have for the cruise line industry and any exceptions to his executive orders...
With 200 million AMERICANS expected to have received vaccination by end of July, you seriously think there will be a shortage of customers? Covid shots are 3 X more popular than Biden’s votes in2020, INCLUDING his fake votes.
Good for you Ann Archy. I guarantee, on your death bed, you will never regret you did too many of them cruises. I am going to regret why I did not discover cruises before age 48. But I am trying to catch up with warp speed now LOL.
See my post #15 which clearly gives the cruise industry a way out.
Because CDC has specific guidelines only for cruises, and the Florida law specifically allows businesses to follow gov’t CDC guidelines.
you better read that again...
#1129 states government issued guidelines...
cdc recommendations aren’t government issued guidelines...
looks like Florida needs to amend their “can’t ask” law to also outlaw discrimination ...
Cool, thanks.
