This author says that there is a paradox but this explains away the paradox apparently without realizing it.

From the article:

whatever this is, it seems to dither at the edges, saying now you see me, now you don't, catch me if you can, but beware if you do.

This kind of behavior would indicate that "it," whatever "it" is, wants to reveal itself gradually over time.

One might conclude that "it" wants us to figure "it" out rather than presenting itself in a way that traumatizes people (for example by having huge ships hover above our major cities).
