In a separate excavation, pools 5 to 6 feet deep used for preserving food. I wonder how they used that facility.

They also used strigils to scrape off old skin (mostly to remove dirt, I’m sure) and tweezed off body hair which was considered a sign of barbarism.

Heh... the food of Italy has found a home in my waistline, and I've never even *been* to Italy.

I showed no Italian DNA at all in my report (it's worth rechecking that from time to time, btw, as more data is contributed) but A) that was a loooong time ago, B) the Roman army was heavily non-Italian by the time Claudius began the conquest of Britain, and C) just because the DNA ain't there doesn't mean Roman ancestors aren't. :^)
