Yeah, to echo Mom MD, no test is 100% Yes it SHOULD trigger even if you had COVID-19 up to a year ago, but it’s also possible for your antibody count to be below the testing threshold for various reasons. It’s very unlikely to go the other direction, where it comes back positive mistakenly. This type of test is very specific in what will trigger it.
The tests usually aren’t too expensive for the basic ones (I’ve seen pricing ranging from $20 - $50 for most). If you’re curious whether you’ve had it before, it can certainly be worthwhile to check.
