You hit it. I am 68. When I was younger..I turned some heads. Today...I have had fibromyalgia for over 25 years. You cannot describe what it does. In the last few months it’s been unreal. I am 5’10”. I am down to 130 lbs. I would either scare you, give you something to make fun of, or pity.
People like me see people making fun of others..and all I see is being made fun of.
I am a Christian. There are some things I cannot do. Making fun of how someone looks is one of them.

Wow... thank you for sharing. It is my prayer that a cure for fibromyalgia is one of the many things [They] have been hiding, which will soon come to light. I’m sorry you’ve been suffering from that terrible affliction. Always remember, you are beautiful in God’s eyes!
And I know it’s only by God’s grace that I’m still going strong, and I thank Him for that often. As to looks, I’ve always been plain - I never turned heads, even when young, and frankly, never cared one way or another about it.
What’s always bugged me are the shallow memes we see so often around FReeperdom that purport to show “What Conservative Women Look Like”, versus their liberal counterparts. As if to be Conservative, you must have a pretty face and appear this, that or the other way, and conform to some superficial standards of looks, dress, hair, etc., or else you don’t “pass”.
I say, never judge a book by its cover! There are many more of us than these trivial-minded people would ever suspect! (And no, a thousand times no - Birkenstocks are NOT “liberal hippie shoes”! They are comfortable, and I’ll wear them every single day if I please, dagnabbit! LOL)

The fattest, ugliest, mongoloid looking person should be able to make fun of anybody for anything.
Stop feeling so bad about yourself. Life is life. Live it, no matter what circumstances you find yourself in.
