The snowy owl is a cool looking bird.
In recent years, my birding friends in northeast Ohio have been spotting them in the colder months, mostly within a few miles of the Lake Erie shores. I had never heard of them when I lived in Cleveland, but then again, I had no interest in birds at the time.
Apparently, bird-watching and photographing is an acquired taste. :)
